What IS up, Sara?
Do you every ask yourself that question, using your name, of course?
I came up with the idea for this video series a month or so ago and kind of dreaded it as the day I scheduled it approached. This video is actually late as I originally planned to post it at the end of October, but things got crazy last week and, well, here’s the video now. 🙂
Why am I doing this video?
A few reasons:
- Now that I’m really working toward my dream of being an author, I need to ramp up my blog, to put myself out there, in the public, where people can actually see me and maybe become interested in me, my writing, my upcoming books… I have worked in marketing for the past something years (please don’t make me do math) and I know that to get noticed you need to get out in front of people, where they are. Most people are on social media so learning to utilize Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and so on in a way that works for you, your business, etc., is imperative. I’m still testing the waters to see what works for me. This video is a test. Let’s see how you enjoy it.
- This video is part of my goal to be simple, honest, and empowered on my blog. It puts my face right in front of you. The video is raw—not scripted—so you get my thoughts in real time.
- I want to share my story with others. I do have a story to share—just as everyone does—and maybe, just maybe, someone will find something they need in my story. Video is one of the best ways to tell story.
And that’s it. That is why I am doing this.
A few other thoughts before you watch the video… Check out the My Story tab. This is my story and will help you better understand why I’m doing what I’m doing, here, on this blog. I’m not doing this to be egotistical or braggy. I struggle with self esteem and so am very scared to put myself and my writing out there for the world to see. And yet, I think I have a great imagination and am a pretty good writer. I don’t want to hide under a bushel. I want to share my talent, my story, and my love with the world. So here I am. This is me. *Deep breath.*
And now, without further ado, here is What’s Up, Sara?
